Thanks to certain perks granted to Full Sail alumni, I was able to return to the campus in order to audit the VSD class I had taken back in the 2012-2015 time period. I chose to go back because the emphasis in this class was on Renderman For Maya and a new software package I hadn't used before... Allegorithmic's Substance Painter.
It started off with a basic Maya layout as seen below where we started off adding lighting to the scene (Renderman's domelight, two rectangular lights, a Cookie Light Filter, and an IES filter.

Once this was configured, we were then introduced to Allegorithmic's Substance Painter in order to produce the textures that would then be used in the Maya scene.

Initially, I found it somewhat intimidating, but then, I ran into the same experience when I first started using Autodesk's Maya.

The more I used the software, the more I liked it!

So much so that I actually purchased a perpetual license for Substance Painter!

It is an incredibly powerful texturing tool that produces near photorealistic textures that you can then apply to your Autodesk Maya geometry!

This video illustrates the textures I was able to produce with Substance Painter and then import into Autodesk Maya where I was able to render them out using Renderman For Maya! Hope you like it!
