Renderman Timeless Art Challenge - PUP Cabin
This was a really challenging project... due to the high poly count of the challenge model.  So high, in fact, that it was necessary to break out parts of it individually to work on them (walls, floor, shelves, desk, fireplace, chairs, etc.).

Here's the backstory behind my idea.  You're part of a SAR team (Search & Rescue).  Your region has just been hit with severe storms coupled with an 8.5 magnitude earthquake.  Damage reports are numerous and you and your team have been assigned to search the nearby woods where several old homes are located... when you come across the unexpected... a rustic, weather-worn, dilapidated shambles!  A cabin, severely damaged by the high winds and the earthquake... even one wall of the cabin has collapsed, letting light in through the opening!  Who lived here?  More importantly, where are they now?  Is there any way to tell from what was left behind?  That's what you're there for, right?  Get to it!

I even borrowed portions of a previous Timeless Art Challenge to provide the branches littering the open end of the cabin.  A PXRDomeLight provides part of the illumination and background.  A PXRRectangularLight coupled with a CookieLightFilter provide additional lighting through the opening and the shadows falling across the floor and tree branches.  To add some realism to the scene, I added a PXRVolume volumetric solid to add some fog to the scene and to model some God rays cast by the RectLight.  Allegorithmic's Substance Painter were vital to the texturing of the objects and the subtleties in the scene.  I'm pleased with the results.  Now we'll have to wait and see if I make the final cut in the Challenge!  Wish me luck!
